SDK with extended functionality
The SVS-Vistek camera drivers are very popular with developers thanks to their low CPU load. This is due to their compact, modern software design. The new Version 2.5.0 reorganizes the structure and expands the available platforms.
Version 2.5.0 adds a new producer for Camera Link to the existing GenTL producers for USB3 and GigE Vision. This means that the three main interfaces - USB3, GigE Vision and Camera Link - can be uniformly addressed.
The new SDK is now available from the Download Center.
Modern architecture
The GenICam GenTL producers form the core of SDK 2.5.0. All SDK access is via this interface. The design is state of the art in machine vision and creates an uniform software interface across all types of camera hardware.
Version 2.5.0 adds a new producer for Camera Link to the existing GenTL producers for USB3 and GigE Vision. This means that the three main interfaces - USB3, GigE Vision and Camera Link - can be uniformly addressed.
Your application as well as third-party software such as HALCON, MIL, Datalogic, OpenCV, Cognex VisionPro and Vision Builder will address your industrial camera through these producer modules.
Version 2.5.0 comes with an extended set of API calls and new examples in C and C#, covering ROI, PIV and white balance.
Camera features made easy
All current SVCam features can be controlled uniformly and conveniently via the GenICam interface.
Control light via GenICam
This particularly also applies to the 4 I/O interface and the 2- and 4-channel strobe controllers integrated in the camera. In this way, any GenICam application can control the lighting with currents of up to 3A and with timing more precise than 1µs via the standard camera interface.
Control focus via GenICam
Some EXOs are able to set the focus of a Varioptic Liquid Lens directly via GenICam. In addition to the focus, Tracer models can also adjust zoom and aperture of the Micro Four Thirds lens.
Uniform lighting and camera control
The uniform access to all imaging parameters (exposure time, ROI, flash time, illuminance, focus) via single a GenICam interface offers many advantages for users:
- reduced dependence on additional libraries
- only a single interface in the application
- application easier to maintain
The high-performance software is free of charge and works with all GenICam cameras. Kit releases are currently available in 32 and 64-bit Windows versions. The Linux x86 and ARM/Jetson versions are currently in the beta phase.
SVCapture2 as development tool
SVCapture is the standard GenICam-based image viewer. It is ideally suited for inspecting the GenICam tree of the attached camera and to verify the camera output image. It allows search and modification of GenICam items.
Version 2.5.0 now supports software polling and autosave.
